VIC AMANTE IS OUTSTANDING CITY MAYOR

City Mayor Vicente B. Amante will be recognized as “Outstanding City Mayor in the Field of Social Welfare and Development” by the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. during its 11th National Social Welfare and Development Forum to be held at the Grand Men Seng Hotel in Davao City this coming Wednesday, September 26, 2007, according to Dr. Ernesto M. Montecillo, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer of Laguna, and incumbent National President of the association and convenor of the forum. Noted by Social Welfare and Development Secretary Esperanza Cabral, the letter of Dr. Montecillo said the award is in recognition of the full support of the City Government of San Pablo to consistently implement the Social Welfare and Development Program in the city under his leadership. To represent San Pablo City at the Regional Population Quiz

Coached Enrico Ortega and Contestant Romy Robielos Romulo O. Robielos II, a fourth year high school student at the Laguna College, and being coached by Economics and Filipino Teacher Enrico Ortega, emerged as champion in the 2007 Division Population Quiz held at the Rizal Hall of the San Pablo Central School, sponsored by the Division of San Pablo City, in coordination with the City Population Office. He will represent the Division of San Pablo City to the Regional Population Quiz to be held on Friday, October 5, 2007, at the Parang National High School to be hosted by the Division of Batangas City in Batangas City, through the coordination of the Secondary Education Division of the Department of Eduation-Region IV-A (CALABARZON). He is the youngest son of Romulo N. Robielos, and former Belencita Orrillaza of Barangay Mavenida, San Pablo City. (Ben Taningco)
