Ticzon sa gulang na 89 noong nakaraang Biyernes, Hunyo  11, 2010, at ang kanyang mga labi ay kasalukuyang pinaglalamayan sa EFARCA Village, Barangay IV-A, Lunsod ng San Pablo.      Isinilang sa Baryo Santo Angel , Bayan ng San Pablo sa Lalawigan ng Laguna noong Hulyo 6, 1920, bilang punonglunsod ay nakilala Alkalde Ticzon sa katawagang “Ma Caring”, at bilang punonglunsod, ay nabanggit ni dating Secretary to the Mayor Rhode Nat. RP longer global laggard, PGMA tells diplomats

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo today said the foreign policy initiatives of her administration have paid off and have lifted the Philippines‘ international standing from that of a laggard. In a speech during the Independence Day Vin D’ Honneur in Malacanang, the President said the Philippine “is back in international relations.” “No longer the laggard, the Philippines has been a steady climber in Asia and the world. We have forged new relations with the world,” she told Manila’s foreign diplomatic community who attended the Philippine Freedom Day at the presidential palace. She said that China is now a leading economic partner of the Philippines while the United States remain in “shoulder-to-shoulder” relations with the Philippines in economic and security aspects. “Europe and the Muslim world are (our) strong allies,” she added. Knowledge centric management drives ASTI

The Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI) formed a Knowledge Management Division (KMD) as part of its Rationalization Plan approved by the Department pof Budget and Management (DBM).  Creation of the division supports the agency’s ISO 9001-2000 certification.  In addition, it works to strengthen the institute’s goal to become a continually learning organization where improvement of its people is of vital importance. One of only a few national government agencies in the country with such a unit,   ASTI managed to fill most of its vacant positions and started full operation this year.  It currently pursues a program strategy as follows: 1.         Enhance application of knowledgemanagement initiatives in daily operations; 2.        Develop appropriate policies, incentive mechanisms and information systems to promote capture, sharing and reuse of data; 3.    ...

STEM search made simple DOST-ASTI pushes for use of ILS

Now students will find on-line library searches FREE and easy using an integrated Library System (ILS) developed by DOST-ASTI.  Users are directed by the system to excellent resources of information on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and research.  ILSes are sometimes called Library Management Systems.  It was set up by the PREGINET Team using the Greenstone Digital Library Software version 2.30.  Greenstone is a set of software for building and distributing digital library collections.  ASTI designed the ILS to coordinate and automate library functions such as on-line cataloguing, circulation, and acquisition.  Large libraries use ILSes or LMSes to order and acquire, receive and account, catalog, circulate, track and shelve materials.   Meanwhile, State Universities and Colleges, government organizations, and research institutions may now host their Website.  ASTI also offers Website hosting to users with onl...
