BIR to step up tax collection, will go after tax cheats

In a bid to meet its target of Php860 billion, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) vowed today to intensify its tax collection by running after tax cheats. “We are strengthening our enforcement activities, and it is highlighted by filing tax evasion cases,” BIR Commissioner Kim Henares told reporters in a press briefing in Malacañang. “We started last Thursday and we intend to keep on filing every other week.” “I have confidence in my people and confidence in the attitude of the Filipino people, that they want to help their government; and that we will able to reach the Php860-billion goal,” she said. Henares clarified however that people who deliberately cheated on their tax payments may still make the necessary restitution by submitting amended income tax returns. “It is the time for everyone to pay their right taxes. ANOTHER ADOPT-A-SCHOOL PROJECT

The Rural Bank of Seven Lakes (San Pablo City), Inc., aware of their social concern  for the welfare of the community that they serve, has added San Gabriel Elementary School in Ambray School District  as the 5 th elementary school unit to receive their assistance under the Adopt-A-School Program of the Department of Education, by providing an amount to cover the cost of finishing the construction of  some sections of the  concrete peripheral fence to help protect the campus from being entered into by astray animals and plain tresspassers. PAGPAPATALA NG MGA KABATAAN, AGOSTO 6 – 15, 2010

     Pag-alinunod sa Resolution No. 9004 na pinagtibay ng Commission on Elections noong Hulyo 12, 2010, ay itinatakda ang panahon ng pagpapatala ng mga kabataang may gulang na mula sa 15 hanggang 17 taong gulang, o yaong mga wala pang 18 taong gulang sa Oktubre 25, 2010, sa Agosto 6 – 15, 2010, upang sila ay maging kagawad ng “ Katipunan ng Kabataan ” at  makaboto sa darating na Synchronized Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections sa Oktubre 25, 2010.      Ang pagpapatala ay sa City or Municipal Election Office kung saan ang aplikante ay naninirahan sa loob ng hindi bababa sa anim (6) na buwan, na inaatasang bukas mula sa ika-8:00 ng umaga hanggang ika-7:00 ng gabi.      Ang aplikante para maging kagawad ng Katipunan ng Kabataan sa kanilang pagpapatala ay makabubuting magdala ng mga sumusunod: certificate of live birth; o  partida bautismo; o school records, o ano mang kasulatang makakapagpatunay o pagkakakil...
