IKA-114 TAON NG PAGKA-MARTIR NI GAT JOSE P. RIZAL

San Pablo City - Noong nakaraang Huwebes ng umaga, Disyembre 30, 2010, ay sinimulan sa ganap na ika-7:30 ng umaga ang palatuntunan sa paggunita sa ika-114 taon ng pagka-martir ni Dr. Jose P. Rizal na nagging dahilan upang siya ay kilalaning pambansang bayani... Sinimulan ang palatuntunan sa pamamagitan ng isang dasal-awit o doksolohiya, na sinundan ng pambansang awit na parehong pinangunahan ng San Pablo Central School (Teachers) Chorale. Si former Vice- Mayor Palermo A. Bañagale na ngayon ay Pangulo ng San Pablo Historical Society ang nagbigay ng pambungad na pananalita, na sinunda ng pagpapaliwanag ni Dr. Enric T. Sanchez, City Schools Division Superintendent, sa kahulugan at kabuluhan ng pagdiriwang tungo sa katatagan ng hinaharap ng bansa. Sina Konsehal Arnel C. Ticzon, Gueren Jon M. Amante, at Edgardo D. Pangasius: main course at the Rizal Food Festival

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal (December 29, 2010) - Chefs of famous restaurants and food caterers in Rizal concocted elegant dishes out of the pangasius fish - known locally as cream dory - during yesterday's food festival at the Eastern Manila Hotel, Las Brisas Compound, Ortigas Avenue Extention in Antipolo City. "The DTI, along with the Department of Agriculture through its Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) promote production and processing of pangasius, a highly profitable venture, not only to provide jobs and livelihood but also the means for hunger mitigation and self-sufficiency in food", said Mercedes Parreño, Director of the DTI in Rizal. Nagpapaalaala si City Administrator Loreto S. Amben sa lahat ng may negosyo dito sa Lunsod ng San Pablo na ang renewal of business permit and license ay simula sa Lunes, Enero 3 hanggang Huwebes, Enero 20, 2011 na ang lahat ng applikasyon ay tatanggapin at ipoproseso sa One Stop Processing Center. Ang pangunahing pangangailangan ay barangay clearance mula sa Tanggapan ng Sangguniang Barangay kung saan nakatayo ang tindahan o punong tanggapan ng negosyo, clearance mula sa Social Security System, at dapat din dalahin ang kanilang business permit and license nitong Taong 2010. DR. MANUEL A. QUISUMBING (August 25, 1892 – January 11, 1969) A well-known chest physician who was appointed Chairman of the Board of Examiners of Medicine by President Manuel L. Quezon.  He was later appointed as the Second City Mayor of San Pablo in February 1941 since Dr. Potenciano Malvar stayed in office for only one month. But he abandoned his position during the Japanese Occupation to avoid prosecution on suspicion that he was supporting the guerilla movements in the area. He was also granted by the succeeding Presidents of the Republic of the Philippines as “Ambassador at-Large” so he can travel abroad with ease to attend conferences on medicine, particularly on tuberculosis.
