PHILHEALTH PROGRAMS, PATULOY NA IPINAKIKILALA

CALAMBA CITY - Nakatuon ang pansin sa kaisipang “Mahal Ang Magpagamot Ngayon,” ang PhilHealth Service Center dito sa pangangasiwa ni Membership Service Office Moises Dimayacyac Soriano ay patuloy na nagsasagawa ng information education campaign upang mahikayat ang marami pang mamamayan na masakop ng Pambansang Palatuntunan sa Kaseguruahang Pangkalusugan, lalo na ang nabibilang sa mahihirap na sektor ng pamayanan o indigent families, bilang pagtugon sa pangarapin ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo na ang lahat ay mapagkalooban ng kaseguruhang pangkalusugan.

Ikinalulugod ni Soriano na ang kanilang tanggapan ay tumatanggap ng tulong mula sa mga samahan ng negosyante o mga nangangasiwa ng malalaking bahay kalakal sa mga industrial park dito sa una at ikalawang congressional district, at maging mula sa mga lider ng mga samahang sibiko, organisasyon sa paglilingkod, at kilusang relihiyoso.

Ayon kay Soriano, ang limang pangunahing palatuntunan ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation ay mga sumusunod: may palagiang gawain o employed sector; sektor ng ipinagbabayad ang sarili o individually paying; mga hindi nagsisipagbayad na kasapi o non-paying member tulad ng mga retiradong kawani; sektor ng overseas workers; at mga miyembrong may tumatangkilik o sponsored indigent family program. DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Bautista. During the incumbency of elected Mayor Lauro D. Dizon Sr., with the help of the Rotary Club of San Pablo, and under the supervision of Dr. Juan B. Hernandez, then club secretary of the local Rotary Club and Chairman of the City Beautification Committee, constructed some park structures at the park, with the fountain featuring the country lass with agriculture harvest as centerpiece.
