KAMPANYA KONTRA BRONTISPA, TULOY-NA-TULOY

ALAMINOS, Laguna - Ang Operation Sagip Niyog o ang malawakang kampanya upang masugpo ang paglaganap ng coconut leaf beetle (Brontispa Longissima) dito sa Laguna sa koordinasyon ng Laguna Provincial Coconut Development Office ng Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) ay tuloy-na-tuloy, at isinasagawqang may pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga Liga ng mga Barangay sa lahat ng mga coconut producing communities sa lalawigan, na sinusuportahan din ng Regional Crop Protection Center ng Department of Agriculture na naka-base sa Los Baños, sang-ayon kay Provincial Coconut Development Manager Lanie M. Lapitan na ang punong tanggapan ay nasa bayang ito.

Ikinatutuwa ni Bb. Lapitan na maraming mga pinunong lokal, at propetaryo ng mga pataniman ng niyog dito sa sakop ng 3rd and 4th Congrossional District ang ganap na nakikiisa sa ikapagtatagumpay ng kampanya, sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaloob sa kanilang ng tama at makabuluhang feedback ukol sa kalalagayan ng peste sa kani-kanilang lugar, sapagka’t ito ang nakatutulong upang maging maayos ang implementasyon ng palatuntunan sa pagsugpo ng pamiminsala ng brontispa. DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Bautista. During the incumbency of elected Mayor Lauro D. Dizon Sr., with the help of the Rotary Club of San Pablo, and under the supervision of Dr. Juan B.
