For having had produce three of the four first placers in the Annual On-the-Spot English Essay Writing Contest for high school fourth year students, the Laguna College recently received the Perpetual Trophy presented by the contest sponsor, the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes (San Pablo City), Inc. during a simple ceremony held at the board room of the , Every high school (both public and private) unit is being represented by a contestant and representatives of Laguna College emerged as first place winner in 2006, 2007 and 2009. Hernandez, then club secretary of the local Rotary Club and Chairman of the City Beautification Committee, constructed some park structures at the park, with the fountain featuring the country lass with agriculture harvest as centerpiece.
