28TH President of Rotary South

President Kits delos Santos posed with District Governor Chit Lijauco after his formal public induction as the 28th President of the Rotary Club of San Pablo City South

As the 28th President of the Rotary Club of San Pablo City South, Paquito “Kits” delos Santos said his administration will be “an era of responsibility.” And he is hopefull that his administration will succeed because of the membership of the club are all dedicated and proud that they belong to Rotary South, which will help achieve the object of this year theme of the Rotary International, ‘The Future Of Rotary Is In Your Hands.”


President Kits said Rotary South is strong because paraphrasing President John F. Kennedy, its members before being actually inducted are being asked, “Ask not what your club can do for you – ask what you can do for your club.”


Publicly inducted and installed into office by District Governor Consuelo “Chit” Lijauco last Wednesday everning, August 5, 2009, President Kits said the position is an opportunity for him to be of service to the club and to the community, and while he is on watch of the Rotary Club of San Pablo City South, he could help make the future of Rotary International be in good hands. DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Bautista. During the incumbency of elected Mayor Lauro D. Dizon Sr., with the help of the Rotary Club of San Pablo, and under the supervision of Dr. Juan B. Hernandez, then club secretary of the local Rotary Club and Chairman of the City Beautification Committee, constructed some park structures at the park, with the fountain featuring the country lass with agriculture harvest as centerpiece.
