PAGHAHANDOG NG DUGO, MABUTI SA TAO, MABUTI SA SANGKATAUHAN

Kaugnay ng pagsapit ng buwan ng Hulyo na sa bisa ng Presidential Proclamation No. 1021, ay ipinagdiriwang na National Blood Donor’s Month, nagpapaalaala si Dr. Emmanuel D. Loyola na isang regular donor na kasapi na ng Blood Galloners’ Club ng Philippine Red Cross-San Pablo City Chapter, na ang pagdodonasyon ng dugo ay nakabubuti sa puso, atay, at bato, sapagka’t napapalitan ng bago ang lumang dugo na nasa katawan. Ang indibidwal na may gulang na mula sa 18 hanggang 60 taon, may timbang na hindi bababa sa 50 kilo, at may maayos na presyon at hemoglobin ay kuwalipikadong maghandog ng dugo. At pag-alinsunod sa mga ipinaiiral na batas, kahit na ang mga regular donor ay sumasailalim ng masusing pagsusuring medical bago kunan para na rin sa kanilang kapanatagang pangkalusugan.

     Ayon na rin kay Doc Eman ay hindi na pinag-uusapan ang kahalagahan ng dugo sa kalusugan ng isang tao  Ang dugo ang gumagawang mainit o malamig an gating katawan, ito ang lumalaban sa impeksyon, na nangangalagang malinis ang loob ng ating katawan, sapagka’t ito ang nagpapalabas sa dumi mula sa katawan. Kaya tahasang masasabing ang pagdodonasyon ng dugo ay mabuti sa tao, at mabuti sa sangkatauhan. (Ruben E. Taningco)

DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A.
