LAGUNA, Philippines – Police are investigating the death of 2 women, whose bodies were found inside a freezer in San Pablo, Laguna.
Laguna police director Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz identified the victims as Leticia Lupian and her niece Vilma Bandilao, 23.
They are natives of Bohol and were residing at Mariflor Subdivision, Barangay Del Remedio, San Pablo City .
According to reports, the victim’s caretaker became suspicious when the 2 women failed to go out of their house for 4 days.
“Naghinala na yung caretaker kasi apat na araw na hindi lumalabas yung [dalawa] kahit naiwang nakabukas ang kanilang radyo,” a police investigator said.
Police said the caretaker asked for help from barangay officials and the police, who in turn, forced their way inside the house and found the victims inside a refrigerator.
Authorities are now looking for the victims' driver identified as Ben Fajardo Corpuz, who is now missing together with their vehicle, a Toyota Lucida van.
Authorities believe that the victims were bludgeoned to death after they found a hammer head at the crime scene.
Police suspect that the robbery was the motive for the killing because around P50,000 was allegedly missing from the house.
