982 out of 4,847 pass Bar exams

This year’s passing percentage of 20.26 percent is lower than last year’s 24.58 percent or 1,451 out of 5,903. The top five was dominated by Ateneo schools with the first, second, and fifth spots going to Ateneo de Manila University and the fourth to Ateneo de Davao. Arellano University ranked third. San Pablo City massacre suspect nabbed

MANILA, Philippines— (UPDATE) The man who killed three people, including a 70-year-old widow in San Pablo City Tuesday afternoon is now behind bars, a police official told Inquirer.net. Laguna Police director Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz said his men and members of the San Pablo City police finally caught Melvin Pido, who stabbed to death his former employer Zenaida Fronda, 70; her son Julius Fronda, 51; and their helper who went by the name Laleng inside their home at 284 Unson Street, 2C village in San Pablo City last week. Cruz told Inquirer.net that Pido did not fight back or attempt to escape again after police negotiated with him to leave the Fine Rock Hotel in Calejan village, San Pablo City at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Pido will be charged with multiple murder, said CALABARZON police director, Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao. Police hunt on for suspect in San Pablo City massacre

MANILA, Philippines – Police are hunting down the suspect in the recent San Pablo City massacre, a police official said Tuesday. Chief Superintendent Samuel Pagdilao, Calabarzon police director, ordered his men Tuesday to catch Melvin Pido, the man who stabbed to death three people, including 70-year-old widow Zenaida Fronda, at 284 Unson Street, 2C village in San Pablo City last week. This order was given after Pido evaded arrest Monday evening, said Pagdilao, adding that the suspect and his family seemed to have gone into hiding. The bodies of Fronda, her son Julius Fronda, 51; and their helper who went by the name Laleng were found in a pool of blood by the widow's brother-in-law, Ceferino Abril. Former US Navy, ma, helper slain in Laguna house

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—A former member of the United States Navy, his elderly mother and a house help were found dead inside their home in San Pablo City, Laguna Sunday afternoon, police said Monday. Julius Fronda, 51, his mother Zenaida, 74, and their housemaid identified only as Laleng from Pitugo town, Quezon were found with multiple wounds inside the Fronda residence in Barangay 2-C at around 5 p.m., said Chief Supt. Leo Luna, San Pablo city police director. Zanaida, a widow, has another son still on active duty with the US Navy, said Luna. The bodies, all found inside Zenaida's room, bore slits in the neck and wounds in the head caused by a blunt object. The police believed the victims had been dead for over 24 hours when discovered. FIRE PREVENTION MONTH CELEBRATED IN SAN PABLO CITY

San Pablo City - The Bureau of Fire Protection-San Pablo City Fire Station headed by Acting City Fire Marshal, Inspector Cornelio L. Puhawan celebrated the regionwide Fire Prevention Month with a Kick-off Ceremony at Lucena City, Quezon last March 1.      Citywide they celebrated the month long activities with a motorcade last March 2 participated by volunteer fire brigades and different non-governmental organizations. And on March 8 they conducted a Seminar on Fire Safety and Prevention at SM City San Pablo.      As part of the celebration they will also conduct another Fire Safety Seminar at the Dept. of Justice-SPC.      San Pablo City- Simula noong buwan ng Pebrero hanggang Marso 8 ay mayroon ng 1,603 aso sa iba’t-ibang barangay ng Lunsod ng San Pablo ang nabigyan ng libreng bakuna laban sa rabis. Ayon kay City Veterinarian Fara Jayne C. Orsolino puspusan ang kanilang kampanya laban sa nakakamatay na rabis sa tulong na rin ng City Health Office sa pamumuno ni Dr. Job D. Brion. Dagdag pa ni Dra. Orsolino na ito ay hindi dapat ipagwalang bahala sapagkat ito ay lubhang mapanganib.      Patuloy ang   City Veterinary Office sa kanilang kampanya laban sa rabis, sa pamamagitan ng ree vaccination na isinasagawa na may pakikipag-ugnayan   sa mga Barangay Chairman upang ang kanilang barangay ay ma-iskedyul at mapuntahan ng mga tauhan ng City Veterinary Office.      Noong Pebrero ay may 1,342 aso ang kanilang nabakunahan sa Barangays Del Remedio, Bagong Bayan, Sto.
