BARBARA JEAN APOSTOL A San Pableña
Passed the BAR Examination in the State of New York, U. S. A.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 .

At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies. Incidentally, she completed her elementary and secondary education at Sachem High School in Lake Ronkonkoma, NY.

Barbara Jean is a daughter of Antonio Apostol and former Abecinia “Baisy” Chumacera of Barangay San Francisco, San Pablo City, being a granddaughter of Doring and Meding Chumacera that used to operate Radio DWAY of Guarranted Broadcasting Corpotation at Medex Subdivision in San Pablo. She last visited the homecity of his parents on January of 2005 when she was invited by Mayor Vicente B. Amante to graced the Cocofest 2005 and ride as Miss San Pablo City on the float of the City Government of San Pablo. (Ben Taningco)

TAX INCENTIVES BY LEGARDA


Nagsalita sa flag ceremonies sa City Hall noong Lunes ng umaga, sinabi ni Senadora Loren Legarda na nagsusulong siya ng isang panukalang batas na magkakaloob ng karagdagang kaluwagan at biyaya sa mga kusangloob na nagsisipaglingkod sa pamayanan, tulad ng mga Barangay Nutrition Scholar, Barangay Health Worker, at maging sa mga Senior Citizen sa buong bansa. Disaster Preparedness Advocacy Program In The City


SAN PABLO CITY - The "Be Safe and Sound" campaign has been introduced here by Generali Pilipinas, as advocate of home disaster preparedness in the country, because according to Regional Director Leo A. Valenton, safety starts at home, at work, and in the community. Safety is everyone’s responsibility he added. To achieve their mission, Generali Pilipinas has developed their own “Home Safety Manual” applicable to Philippine conditions.


Backed by its mother company, the Assicurazioni Generali, a market leader in insurance industry in Italy founded in 1831, their aim is to assist the Filipinos in securing and protecting their homes, businesses, properties and lives, Leo Valenton told the members of the South Luzon Team that recently met at Biggs Dinner along A. M. Regidor Street, opposite the San Pablo City Shopping Mall.


As a corporate initiative, Valenton reported that they had been organizing trainings and learning conferences being attended by community leaders to equip them with knowledge that they can share among their peers in the society where they belongs.


"Due to hazards and disasters to which the country is often subjected to, Generali Pilipinas takes a pro-active involvement in educating communities to be prepared and be protected from calamities," according to Valenton.


Incidentally, Valenton reported that Generali Pilipinas as a major player in the insurance industry, they have expanded their coverage in Sothern Luzon Area, and their products and services now includes life insurance, auto and home insurance, small and medium business protection, employees benefit plans, as well as commercial property insurance. BEER PLAZA NA KAUGNAY NG COCOFEST 2008

Gaya ng nakaugalian kung isinasagawa ang taunang Cocofest, sa darating na Enero 7 – 15, 2008 ay muling magkakaroon ng gabi-gabing beer plaza sa kahabaan ng Avenida Rizal na maituturing ng isang institusyon na nagtatampok sa mga produkto ng San Miguel Brewery, Inc., lalo na ang San Miguel Pale Pilsen sang-ayon kay Advocacy Officer Mac Dormiendo.

Magugunitang si Dormiendo ang isa sa mga naging kasangguni ni Mayor Vicente B.
