The First Lantern Festival in San Pablo City

For many San Pableño, the First Lantern Festival held at the SM City San Pablo last Sunday evening  was an experience particularly among young adults who came in with small pieces of paper where they wrote their wishes to be attached to the lantern that they entered in the festival, an event brought to the city by K. Gachitorena and Rachel Alvero that attracted not only photo enthusiasts from far and near, but but multitude of families from the city and adjacent municipalities. To many Asians, Lantern Festival is regarded as the Chinese version of Saint Valentine’s Day , for this is a celebration of love and affection among lovers as dictated by the Chinese tradition and culture.
