Police: 20 people hurt in bus accident in Quezon

At least 20 people were reported injured after a Manila-bound bus from Ormoc (Leyte) fell into a 30-foot ravine in Quezon province early on Monday. PO2 Frederick Elardo of the Pagbilao town police said the incident occurred along a curved road in Pagbilao at about 7:30 a.m. "Isang Eagle Star Bus from Ormoc to Manila, ito nawalan ng preno at nahulog sa ravine more or less 30 feet deep (An Eagle Star bus bound from Ormoc to Manila fell into a 30-foot ravine after its brakes failed)," Elardo said in an interview on dzBB radio. He said there were no fatalities and that the injuries of the passengers were relatively minor, mostly abrasions and bruises. He said all the injured passengers have been rescued and brought to the hospital. However, Elardo said they are still looking for the bus driver, initially identified as Santiole Pepito. No to lavish graduation rites, DepEd tells schools
