COCONUT FESTIVAL ON JANUARY 7 – 15, 2008

SAN PABLO CITY - The 13th Coconut Festival and Fair will be held on January 7 – 15, 2008 according to City Administrator Loreto S. Amante, Chairman of the City Coconut Festival Committee. It will feature the Mardi Gras or Street Dancing Contest, an activities which place San Pablo City as a tourist destination under the Programs of the Department of Tourism, and accredited or recognized by the National Historical Institute. To coincide with the weeklong commemoration of the 412th Anniversary of the Founding of the Parish of Saint Paul, The First Hermit, which is now the seat of the Diocese of San Pablo, Inc., the other activities are the nightly cultural presentation and musical extravaganza, and beer plaza to be sponsored by various commercial corporations, as well as by the Office of the Provincial Governor, Amante reported. RECEIVING AWARDS IS AMANTE’S ROUTINE CPO LOLITA DAYO

Receiving awards as an Outstanding City Mayor is seem already a routine for Mayor Vicente B. Amante as the 5th Elected City Mayor of San Pablo according to former City Population Officer Lolita S. Dayo, who served as City Nutrition Action Officer from 1983 to 2005 when she reached the mandatory retirement age. When he assumed office as Mayor on June 30, 1992, among his initial actions was to recommend the creation of the Office of the City Administrator, Office of the City Population Officer, Office of the City Cooperative Officer, and the Office of the City Information Officer, in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991 or Republic Act No. 7160, believing that the creation of these offices will help enhance the delivery of educational, health, and social services to the community, particulary among those living in the countrysides. DIVISION OF SAN PABLO CITY, SHINE AT REGIONAL SCIENCE CAMP

Referred to as “a token delegation” due to its number, the representatives of the Division of San Pablo City to the Regional Environmental Science Camp held in Bacoor, Cavite last September 12 – 14, 2007 participated by high school students from the 13 provincial and city schools divisions that comprises Department of Education-Region IV-A (CALABARZON), shine in all categories of competition, except in Poster Making Contest, according to General Education Supervisor (for Science) Erlinda D. Abrenica in her report to Mayor Vicente B. Amante and City Schools Superintendent Ester C. Lozada. It could be categorically said that “The Division of San Pablo City won in all individual competitions” during the Regional Environmental Science Camp attended by selected participants from the Provincial Schools Division of Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon and Rizal, and City Schools Division of Batangas, Calamba, Cavite, Lipa, Lucena, San Pablo, Santa Rosa and Tanauan, Ms. ...

SSS Medical & Dental Mission

Personal na pinangunahan ni South Luzon Cluster Assistant Vice President Aida V. de los Santos ang pangangasiwa sa isinagawang medical and dental mission ng Social Security System (SSS) noong nakaraang Miyerkoles, Setyembre 19, 2007, iniuugnay sa paggunita ng korporasyon ng kanilang ika-50 taon ng pagkakatatag sa buwang ito. Sa larawan, nasa dakong likuran si Bb. de los Santos ni Dra. Marivic L. Guia, isang medical specialist sa City Health Office na nagsusuri ng isang pasyente. Assistant Vice President Aida V. de los Santos confers with the trainers from SSS Central Office in Diliman that conduct Training on Self-Employed/Voluntary Members (SE/VM) Maintenance for key personnel assigned in the SSS Provincial Offices in the CALABARZON and MIMAROPA Areas to make sure that payments made by self-employed and voluntary members are immediately posted and their records are updated. Ms. de los Santos said they give focus on the records of self-employed and voluntary members since they cannot afford to hire qualified personnel to actuate or look after their records in the system.
