RURAL BANK OF SEVEN LAKES, ADOPTED STO. CRISTO SCHOOL

As expression of gratitude to the community for their continuous patronage of the products and services of the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes (San Pablo City), Inc, the bank management recently donated 250 copies of English Workbooks in English and in Reading for all grade levels at the Sto. Cristo Elementary School, a unit of the Division of San Pablo City, under the “Adopt-A-School Program” stipulated in Republic Act No. 8525.

Founded in November 21, 1974 and now on its 33rd year of operations, Chairman/President Odilon I. Bautista said the donation was made since it one of the mission of the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes to help the youth of the city to be globally competitive in the right use of English language, and in instilling proficiency on this subject. Proficiency in English will also help students understand subjects in Economics and discussion on governance.

Bank Manager Eduardo M. Garcia recalled that last year,RB7Lakes established and sponsored the On-The-Spot Essay Writing Contest for fourth year high school students where the maiden contest was held at the bank premises along M. Paulino Street, this city, on November 16, 2006, designed to enhance exemplary adherence towards English proficiency, to help achieve the dreams of many to be globally competitive as workers in communication industry, as well as in cultural inter-actions. The bank management are simply helping the youth in their quest for excellence in the field of communication arts, and recognizes the important role being played by schools in uplifting the students English Proficiency Level.

Alcalde, Retired Judge Bautista ceremonially turned-over the workbooks to School Principal Rhea A. Dacara last August 10, 2007, in the presence of City Schools Superintendent Ester C. Lozada, General Education Supervisors Muriel Av. Maghirang, Rosario N. Robielos, and Miguela G. Marasigan, Dapdapan School District Supervisor Zenaida D. Tolentino, and School Principals Medelyn B. Jaurigue, Edna H. Albajera, Estelita Veneracion, and Isabelita G. Miral (RET)

San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
