Inaasahan ang pagdalo ni PhilHealth Acting President and Chief Executive Officer Lorna O. Fajardo sa nakatakdang Forum on Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities na gaganapin sa Riverview Resort and Conference Center sa Calamba City sa darating na Martes, Pebrero 19, 2008, simula sa ika-9:00 ng umaga na itataguyod ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), na iniuugnay sa pagdiriwang ng ika-13 Anibersaryo ng kanilang pagkakatatag, sang-ayon sa paanyayang tinanggap ng pahayagang ito mula kay Dr. Edwin M. Oriña, officer-in-charge ng PhilHealth-Region IV-A na may hurisdiksyon sa mga Lalawigan ng Quezon, Laguna, at Cavite.



Ang PhilHealth ay natatag sa bisa ng National Health Insurance Act of 1995 o Batas Republika Bilang 7875 na napagtibay noong Pebrero 14, 1995 na naglalayong mabigyan ng kaseguruhang pangkalusugan ang lahat ng mga Filipino, nasa loob o nasa labas man ng bansa.



Ang mga paksang tatalakayin ay ang mga pananagutan at karapatan ng pasyente sa Pananaw ng PhilHealth na ipagkakaloob ni Senior Vice President Madeliene R. Rivera, M.D.; sa Pananaw ng mga nasa Akademya na ipaglilingkod ni Prof. Nina Consorcia T. Castillo-Carandang; sa Pananaw mula sa Panig ng Batas na ipaliliwanag ni Atty. Leo O. Olarte; sa Pananaw ng Panig ng Philippine Medical Association na ang diskusyon ay gagampanan ni Dr. Jose A. Sabili; sa Pananaw ng mga Tagapangasiwa ng mga Pagamutan na ipauunawa ni Hospital Administrator. Carlo M. Brion ng San Pablo Doctor’s Hospital; at sa Pananaw sa Pagsusulong ng mga Karapatan at Pananagutan ng Pasyente na ipahahayag ni Dra. Edelina dela Paz. Si Dr. Noel Espellardo ang magiging tagapag-ugnay ng talakayan. (Ben Taningco)

DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Bautista. During the incumbency of elected Mayor Lauro D. Dizon Sr., with the help of the Rotary Club of San Pablo, and under the supervision of Dr. Juan B. Hernandez, then club secretary of the local Rotary Club and Chairman of the City Beautification Committee, constructed some park structures at the park, with the fountain featuring the country lass with agriculture harvest as centerpiece.
