ESSAY WRITING CONTEST FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR STUDENTS

Board Chairman Odilon I. Bautista announces that the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes (San Pablo), Inc. will be holding its third On-The-Spot Essay Writing Contest for fourth year high school students on November 21, 2008, a Friday, at their board room along M. Paulino Street, starting at 8:00 o’clock in the morning. All high school units in the city are invited to send their representative. Cash prizes and Awards for Excellence will be at stake, as it was in the past two years..


Bank Director Leila A. Aquino said the awarding of winners will be held in the afternoon of Saturday, November 29, 2008, at the San Pablo Central Stadium, on time with the commemoration of the 34th Founding Anniversary of Rural Bank of Seven Lakes (San Pablo City), Inc, and the traditional Christmas party for their clients and employees..


The program is deseigned for the youth to enhance exemplary adherence towards English proficiency, to help achieve the dreams of many to be globally competitive as workers in communication industry, as well as in cultural inter-actions. Judge Bautista pointed out that every sector of the community must work hand in hand and in sharing the responsibility in helping the youth in their quest for excellence in the field of communication arts. The schools will also be honored and recognized for the important role they are playing in uplifting the students’ English Proficiency Level.


This On-The-Spot Essay Writing Contest is a continuing program of the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes, to coincide with the commemoration of its 34th Founding Anniversary on November 21, 2008. Providing incentives for the youth to excel, and it signifies the bank’s expression of gratitude to the community for all the trust and patronage they have accorded to this financial institution which is the oldest rural bank operating in the city today, Bautista added. Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies.
