SA MAYO 7, WALANG PASOK SA SAN PABLO

     Sa pamamagitan ng  Proclamation No. 2042 na pinagtibay ni Executive Secretary Leandro R. Mendoza noong nakaraang Lunes, Abril 26, sa tagubilin  ni Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, sa kahilingan ni Mayor Vicente B. Amante, ay ipinahahayag ang  Araw ng Biyernes, Mayo 7, 2010, na Tanging Araw ng Pangilin na Walang Pasok o Special Non-Working Day upang mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga mamamayan na maipagdiwang ang ika-70 anibersaryo ng pagkapagpatibay ng Commonwealth Act No. 520 na nagkakaloob ng Karta ng Pagka-Lunsod sa San Pablo.

     Magiging tampok na palatuntunan ng pagdiriwang ang pagkakaloob ng “Gawad ng Karangalan” sa mga napiling “Mga Namumukod Tanging San Pableño” na gaganapin sa Palmera’s Resort and Restaurant sa Maharlika Highway sa Barangay San Rafael, Lunsod ng San Pablo.

     Ang “The Outstanding San Pablenos 2010”  ay sina (1) Court of Appeal Justice Danton Q. Bueser para sa Government Services;    (2) Gng. Esperanza S. Conducto para sa Pangangalakal o Business;   (3) G. Ariston T. Mitra para sa Accountancy, (4) Ms. Marisol “Sol” Aragones-Sampelo para sa Broadcast Media; (5) Dra.Virginia Briones Reyes-Estrada para sa Larangan ng Medisina; (6) Rotarian Palermo A. Bañagale para sa Civic Activities; at Dra. Elma O. Paraiso para sa Humanitarian Activities;    (7) Provincial Schools Division Superintendent Ester C. Lozada para sa Edukasyon; (8) G. Carleto T. Ortega para sa Bronze Sculpture at G. Doroteo Gerardo N. Alanguilan Jr., para sa Visual Arts ;    (9) Swimmer  Michael Mars Andrey Raphael F. Danila para sa Youth in Sports; at    (10) Inhenyero Guillermo P. Inciong (Post Humous Award) para sa  Civil Engineering.  (Ruben E. Taningco)

DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Passed the BAR Examination in the State of New York, U. S. A.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies.
