CITY MAYOR VICENTE B. AMANTE WAS ALREADY PROCLAIMED

SAN PABLO CITY – Matapos makapagtamo ng kabuuang boto na 59,228 o kalamangang 27,974 boto kay Congressman Danton Q. Bueser, na nagtamo ng kabuuang boto na 31,254, si Alkalde Vicente B. Amante, kasabay ng iba pang mga nagsipagwagi, ay pormal na ipinoroklama ng City Board of Canvasser noong Huwebes ng gabi, Mayo 17, Na matapos ang pagbasa ng proklamasyon ay kaagad itinaas ng reeleksyonistang pununglunsod ang kamay ng mga bubuo ng bagong sangguniang panglunsod, bilang tanda ng pakikipagkaibigan at isang paghikayat sa lahat na isantabi ang pagkakaiba-iba ng kinaaanibang pangkating pampulitika, at pagsikapang limutin ang ano mang hapdi na dulot ng init ng nakaraang kampanyahan.

Ang una niyang itinaas ang kamay nina Vice Mayor-elect Frederick Martin A. Ilagan, Councilors-elect Paolo C. Lopez, Danilo R. Yang at Arsenio A. Escudero Jr. at reelected Councilor Angelo L. Adriano, bago ang kina Reelected Councilors Richard C. Pavico, Diosdado A. Biglete, Alejandro Y. Yu, at Councilor-elect Eleanor T. Reyes. Hindi nakadalo sa proklamasyon sina reelected Councilor Leopoldo M. Colago, at Councilor-elect Dante B. Amante sa dahilang sila ay dumadalo sa isang pagtitipong ipinag-anyaya ng University of the Philippines sa Maynila.

Ang City Board of Canvasser ay binubuo nina City Election Officer Romeo R. Rivera, chairman; City Prosecutor Gerardo B. Ilagan, vice chairman, at City Schools Superintendent Ester C. Lozada, secretary.

Samantala, batay sa opisyal na ulat ng City Board of Canvasser, sa pagka-Gobernador, ang botong natamo ni Teresita S. Lazaro ay may kabuuang 45,365, ang kay Edwin L. Olivarez ay 38,890; sa pagka-Bise Goberandor, ang natamo ni Ramil Hernandez ay 44,388, ang kay Raul Marco Sison ay 28,763; sa pagka-Congressman, ang natamo ni Ma. Evita R. Arago ay 27,397; kay Florante L. Aquino ay 23,721; kay Arcadio B. Gapangada Jr. ay 23,356; kay Adoracion B. Alava ay 4,220; at kay Enrico T. Velasco ay 2.504; at sa pagka-Board Member, ang natamo ni Katherine C. Agapay ay 57,381; kay Reynaldo Paras ay 23,666, at Mirabo Q. Bueser ay 18,417.

Nabanggit ni City Election Officer Romeo R. Rivera na ang ulat sa boto para sa pagka-Kongresista, pagka-Gobernador, pagka-Bise Gobernador, at pagka-Bokal ay kanilang itutuloy sa Provincial Board of Canvasser sa Santa Cruz, kung saan ipinahahayag ang mga nagsisipagwagi para sa mga nabanggit na katungkulan. Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 .
