SAN PABLO CITY – In press statement given by reelected City Councilor Leopoldo M. Colaga, he expressed his appreciation on Mayor Vicente B. Amante for having had spearheaded, in spite of the various odes, the putting up of Dalubhasaan ng Lunsod ng San Pablo (DLSP) ten years ago to cater to poor but deserving student then.
DLSP commemorated its TIN (10th) Anniversary last Friday, July 6, and Colago said this dream of Mayor Amante of putting up a college that will offer educational programs affordable for the less privileged who aspires to finish a college degree, at that time and up to now, were realized only in the City of Manila under Mayor Alfredo Lim, and City of Makati under Mayor Jejomar Binay, where the local governments put up their own colleges for this purpose. They now have the Pamantasan ng Maynila and Pamantasan ng Makati, and he share the dream of Amante that before the end of their term, DLSP will already be Pamantasan ng Lunsod ng San Pablo.
Colago added that college education is the only way for the poor to be emancipated from poverty, and upgrading the city college into a university is no longer a political promise but a political reality under the leadership of Mayor Vicente B. Amante. (Beneta News)
