Kabataang San Pableño, Pambato ng Laguna


Tatlong first year college student sa Lunsod ng San Pablo ang napasama sa 5-man Provincial Team ng Laguna na lalahok sa regional elimination contest sa darating na Nobyembre 13, 2008 sa Lipa City upang mapili ang kakatawan sa CALABARZON Provinces sa 17th Philippine Statistics Quiz na magkatuwang na itinataguyod ng National Statistics Office at Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. na gaganapin sa Maynila sa Disyembre 4, 2008. Sila ay sina (mula sa kaliwa) France Camille A. Credo ng Laguna College na tumapos ng high school sa Laguna College, 3rd place; Jeric Bryan A. Yaneza ng STI-San Pablo City, na tumapos na tumapos ng high school sa San Jose (Malamig) National High School, 4th place; at Mary Ariane H. Imbo ng Laguna College, na tumapos ng high school sa Laguna College, 5th place. Ang first placer ay si Heinrich Sean F. Fabregas ng UPLB College of Arts and Sciences na tumapos ng high school sa Lipa City National Science High School, samantala ang 2nd place ay si Marc Victor F. Gallenito na kumukuha ng B. S. Statistics sa UPLB na tumapos ng high school sa Gallonosa National High School sa Sorsogon.Ang Provincial Elimination ay ginanap sa Cultural Center of Laguna sa Santa Cruz noong Miyerkoles ng hapon sa pangangasiwa ng National Statistics Office-Laguna Provincial Office sa tulong ng Tanggapan ng Punonglalawigan. What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Passed the BAR Examination in the State of New York, U. S. A.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies.
