NEW EX-OFFICIO COUNCILORS, INDUCTED INTO OFFICE

ALAMINOS, Laguna - Punong Barangay Oscar M. Masa of San Andres was formally inducted into the Office of the President of the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Bayan ng Alaminos by Mayor Eladio M. Magampon last Monday morning right after the traditional flag ceremony infront of the municipal hall according to Local Government Operations Officer Abigail N. Andres of the Department of the Interior and Local Government assigned in this municipality.

Other officers of the 15-member Liga ng mga Barangay are Punong Barangay Eduardo R. Briz of Del Carmen, vice president; Punong Barangay Emerson C. Maligalig of Barangay Dos, secretary; Punong Barangay Ernesto A. Sahagun of Santa Rosa, treasurer; and Punong Barangay Nestor C. Aquino of San Juan, auditor. Directors are Punong Barangay Felix L. Mitra of Palma; Punong Barangay Eustaquio A. Abril of San Roque; Punong Barangay Rustico D. Danta of San Agustin; Punong Barangay Emerson C. Maligalig of Barangay Dos; Punong Barangay Ernesto A. Sahagun of Sta. Rosa; Punong Barangay Urbano M. Balog of San Gregorio; Punong Barangay Rammel Escueta Banzuela of San Miguel; and Punong Barangay Arturo C. Avenido of San Benito.

On the same program, Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Rafael M. Castro of San Juan was formally installed as President of the Federation of Sangguniang Kabataan, and it was learned that the two newly inducted leaders will assume their positions as ex-officio members of the Sangguniang Bayan once their elections are confim by the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Code.

Other officers of the Federation of Sangguniang Kabataan are SK Chairman Julius Cesar Villanueva of San Gregorio, vice president; SK Chairman Riza I. Torres of Barangay Cuatro, treasurer; SK Chairman Irushi Galleto of San Ildefonso, treasurer; SK Chairman Rey John Maloles of Barangay Uno, auditor; SK Chairman Leo Cedric Manalo of Barangay Sta. San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
