IKA-20 ANIBERSARYO NG PCAMRD SA ENERO 30

Ang Philippine Council for Aquatic and Marine Research and Development (PCAMRD), isang sanggunian sa pananaliksik at pagpapaunlad sa ilalim ng Department of Science and Technology, ay gugunitain ang kanilang Ika-20 Anibersaryo ng Pagkakatatag sa darating na Enero 30 at 31, 2008, na ang tema ng pagdiriwang ay “Innovative Strategies for Technology Commercialization” sang-ayon sa isang pahayag ni Dr. Rafael D. Guerrero III, executive director ng ahensya. Si Science Secretary Estrella F. Alabastro ang magiging panauhing pandangal at pangunahing tagapagsalita.

Sa unang araw ay gaganapin ang Roundtable Workshop on Philippine Research and Development Framework for Climate Change and Aquatic and Marine Resources, at bubuksan sa publiko ang AQUAMART sa basement ng PCAMRD Headquarters Building kung saan nakatanghal para ipagbili ang mga makabagong kagamitang ginagamit sa pagpapaunlad ng industriya ng pagpapalaisdaan sa tubig-tabang o sa tubig-alat pagbabalita pa ni Dr. Guerrero.

Itatampok sa ika-2 araw ng pagdiriwang ang pag-uulat ng Executive Director, at ang pagkakaloob ng gawad ng pagkilala sa mga nagsipagwagi sa taunang paligsahan na may kaugnayan sa pananaliksik sa larangan ng pagpapalisdaan at mga likas yaman sa karagatan sa koordinasyon ng National Aquatic Resources Research and Development System (NARRDS) Zonal Centers, gayon na rin ang pagkakaloob ng pagpapahalaga sa mga institusyon at indibidwa, kasama na ang ilang aktibong kagawad ng medya, na sa nakalipas na maraming taon ay naging kabalikat ng PCAMRD sa pagpapasigla sa mga gawain nito. San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
