SAN PABLO JAYCEES, PANG-6 SA BUONG BANSA


Ang Junior Chamber International (JCI) San Pablo Seven Lakes, na lalong kilala bilang San Pablo “Seven Lakes” Jaycees, Inc. na sa Administrative Year 2008 ay nasa ilalim ng liderato ni JCI Member Normandy Inarda Flores bilang Chapter President ay nagtamo ng Merit Award for Best Local Chapter for Category 3 (with 25 – 45 active members) ng ganapin ang 60th National Convention sa Zamboanga Convention Center sa Depolog City sa Zamboanga del Norte noong nakaraang isang Biyernes, Oktubre 10, 2008. Natamo rin ng San Pablo Jaycees ang gawad na “Best United Nation Millennium Development Goals Project “Stop AIDS. Keep The Promise Year 2”, na sa pangkalahatan ay nalagay ang JCI-San Pablo Seven Lakes sa Ranked 6 sa Final Junior Chamber International Philippines Efficiency Awards (JCIPEA) na kinikilalang isang malaking karangalan para sa lunsod kung isasaalang-alang sa na buong bansa ay may 200 aktibong Jaycee Chapter. Ang pagkilala ay naglagay sa San Pablo Jaycees na isa sa 10 pinakaaktibong chapter sa Pilipinas sa nakalipas na 10 taon.


Noong nakaraang taon, sa 59th National Convention na ginanap sa Cebu City ang JCI San Pablo Seven Lakes ay Ranked 10 sang-ayon kay National President Albert Raphael Angelo A. Lesaca nang siya ay dumalo sa 60th Induction of Officers ng local organization (LOM) na ginanap sa Coco Palace Hotel sa lunsod na ito. (Ben Taningco)

FELICISIMO T. SAN LUIS, ANG ALAMAT NG LAGUNA

Si Abogado Felicisimo Tobias San Luis, na isinilang noong Hunyo 23, 1919, at lumaki sa Bayan ng Santa Cruz, ay nanungkulang Punonglalawigan ng Laguna simula noong Disyembre 30, 1955 hanggang sa siya ay papagpamahingahin noong Disyembre 18, 1992, o siya ay tuloy-tuloy na nanungkulan sa loob ng 36 taon, 11 buwan, at 18 araw, na kinikilala ng kasaysayan na siya ang natatanging lider na nanungkulan bilang punong tagapagpaganap ng isang lalawigan sa Pilipinas sa ganoong kahabang panahon.      Isang mabuting mananalumpati, nang ibaba ni Pangulong Ferdinand E. San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
