CORNISTA HEADS CGDH ASSOCIATION


City Government Department Head (City Accountant) Lolita G. Cornista was formally inducted into office by Mayor Vicente B. Amante last Monday morning, during the traditional flag ceremonies at the City Hall, as the new president of the San Pablo City Government Department Heads and Assistant City Government Department Heads Association, on time with the formal promulgation of Executive Order No. 02-2009 by the local chief executive to formally launched the so-called Citizens Charter of San Pablo City in compliance with the provisions of the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007 under Republic Act No. 9485.


Ms. Cornista, who is an active member of the provincial chapter of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), succeeded Local Civil Registrar Benedicto “Benny” D. Danila, under whose leadership, the membership of the association was turned into a cohesive working team. That every member-department head are already familiar with the provisions of the Government Procurement Reform Act under Republic Act No. 9184 or of the state policy for the promotion of the ideals of good governance in all branches, departments, agencies, subdivisions, and instrumentalities, and that their activities are governed by the principles of transparency, competitiveness, economy and public monitoring. What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Passed the BAR Examination in the State of New York, U. S. A.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies.
