JIGGY MANICAD IS OUTSTANDING SAN PABLEÑO


Rodrigo “Jiggy” Defeo Manicad Jr. a senior reporter of GMA Channel 7, was chosen as one of “The Oustanding San Pableños” for Year 2009 to be honored by the City Government this coming Thursday, May 7, 2009, during a dinner-meeting to be held at Palmera Resort and Restaurant at Barangay San Fafael to commemorate the 69th Founding Anniversary of San Pablo City.


Born in San Pablo City on November 15, 1974, Jiggy took up his undergraduate studies at the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, his post graduate studies in communication at Cardiff University in Wales, England as British Chevening Scholarship Awardee, and have special training as broadcast reporter at the British Broadcasting Corporation (or The BBC) in Norwich. He completed his elementary and secondary courses in San Pablo Colleges. He now resides in Manhattan Village in Barangay San francisco Calihan.


In record time, young as he is, Jiggy Manicad have already covered stories of international relevance, for it includes insurgency and extremism in Mindanao, disaster and illegal arms trade, Middle East Conflicts, and climbers of Mount Everest. (Ruben E. Taningco)

Passed the BAR Examination in the State of New York, U. S. A.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association.
