JUSTICE BRION INDUCTS INCOMING SAN PABLO BAR ASSOCIATION OFFICERS

     San Pablo City - Supreme Court Associate Justice Arturo D. Brion inducted incoming officials of the San Pablo Bar Association in a fitting ceremony held at Villa Evanzueda at Sityo Baloc, Barangay San Ignacio last Thursday evening. Special guests were Court of Appeals Justice Danton Q. Bueser. IBP Vice-President Atty. Roan I. Libarios,  and other legal luminaries both in Metro Manila and in Southern Luzon.

    Justice Brion lauded the assumption of Atty. Hizon A. Arago to the presidency of San Pablo Bar Association along with Atty. Antonio A. Lat as vice- president. Other officers are  Atty. Ereczurez A. Lanzuela, secretary; Atty. Jerson L. Belen, Treasurer; Atty. Epifanio E. Gamo Jr., and Atty. Deogracias C. Reyes, Jr., PRO; Attys Bienvenido V. Reyes, Gregorio T. Villanueva, Dionisio G. Aquino, Antonio Lacsam, Candido G. Javaluyas, Jr., Edgardo M. Maralim and Edmundo C. Garcia, board of directors. He gave his full confidence to the association as partners and officers of the court.

    Given special honors during the affair was Judge Dinah Evangeline S. Belulia-Bandong on her promotion to the Regional Trial Court in Lucena City, and welcome recognition to the passers of the recent Bar Examination,   and new members of the organization.

    In his inaugural message Atty. Hizon A. Arago assure colleagues that the association under his leadership will contribute  its tradition in the effective preservation and upholding of the Rule of Law, will exercise superior degree of fairness, observe reputable and reasonable behavior and worthy partner of the judiciary in the administration of justice.

    Introduced by San Pablo RTC Branch 30 Judge Agripino G. Morga, as godfather of San Pablo Bar, JusticeJBrion reiterated his trust and confidence to the association as important part in the promotion of justice which the courts alone can not do without the help of the practicing bar.

     With the theme “the bench and the bar side by side for justice,” present during the induction were retired RTC Judges Bienvenido Reyes and Abelardo Escoses;  and RTC Judges Amy Melba S, Belulia and Honorio Guanlao.  Atty Victorino “Butch”  F.  Javier was master of the ceremony. Passed the BAR Examination in the State of New York, U. S. A.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies.
