Maagang pagkalutas ng ‘hostage crisis’ sa Agusan, inaasahan ng Palasyo

Inaasahan ng Malakanyang na mapayapang matatapos ang hostage-taking na nagaganap sa Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur pagkaraang palayain ang 13 taon na batang lalaki Lunes. 
“Oo, inaasahan nating mapayapang magwawakas ang krisis na ito,” sabi ni Presidential Com-munications Development and Strategic Planning Office Secretary Ramon Carandang sa press briefing  sa Malakanyang Martes
Idinugtong ni Carandang na ang pagpapalaya kay Marvin Corvera, 13 taon, ay palatandaang matatapos sa madaling panahon ang krisis na ito at maililigtas ng local crisis management committee ang mga binihag sa kamay ng mga dumukot sa kanila. 
Tiniyak ni Carandang sa madla na ang gobyerno sa pangunguna ng local crisis management committee ay patuloy na gumagawa ng lahat ng paraan para malutas ang hostage crisis. 

Ang kaligtasan ng mga bihag ang unang-unang inaalagata ng pamahalaan at idinugtong na mahinahon ang mga negosyador sa pakikitungo sa mga hostage-takers.  
Limang sandatahang lalaki umano na buhat sa tribung Manobo na nakatira sa kagubatan ang dumukot sa 15 guro at mga bata noong Sabado upang mapilit ang pamahalaan na palayain ang isang nakapiit na kamag-anak. 

Sa kabuuang bilang ng mga biktima, dalawa na ang pinawalan Linggo at isa naman Lunes ng gabi.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies.
