DPWH-SAN PABLO CITY, NAGTAGUYOD NG JOBS FAIR

Si District Engineer Federico L. Concepcion (nakaupo sa kaliwa) samantalang kapanayam ang mga kinatawan ng mga lumahok na construction firm.


Sa ilalim ng “Programang Pangtabaho ni Pangulong Gloria” ang Department of Public Works and Highways-Laguna Sub-District Engineering Office na may tanggapan sa Miraflor Subdivision sa Barangay Del Remedio sa Lunsod ng San Pablo ay nagtaguyod ng isang Jobs Fair noong nakaraang Lunes, Pebrero 23, 2009. na nilahukan ng mga prequalified contractor na kumikilos dito sa Katimugang Tagalog na personal na pinangasiwaan ni District Engineer Federico L. Concepcion, at nina Bb. Gregoria Catipon, Flora Javeloza, at Shirely Samiano bilang mga coordinator.


May pakikipag-ugnayan sa Philippine Contractors Association (PCA), iniulat ni District Engineer Federico L. Concepcion na tanging mga prequalified contractor ang inanyayahang lumahok sa DPWh Jobs Fair bilang pag-alinsunod sa itinatagubilin ng Batas Republika Bilang 9184 o Reform Procurement Law.


Ang kinikilalang mga prequalified contractors ng RA 9184 ay yaong mga kontratista na pinagkalooban ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ng “Certificate of Qualification” matapos na makapaglahad ng Contractor’s Prequalification Statements batay sa kategoriya ng proyektong ninanasa nilang lahukan, tulad ng puhunan, mga kasangguniang propesyonal, mga kagamitan o heavy equipments, at kasaysayan bilang kontratista. Ang mga debarred contractor ay hindi pinahihintulutang lumahok sa mga pasubasta, bagama’t tinataglay nila ang mga katangian ng isang kuwalipikadong kontratista.


Ang mga manggagawang napagkalooban ng pagkakataon sa hanapbuhay ay maaaring makapagtrabaho ng mula sa dalawang buwan, hanggang sa isang taon, batay sa uri ng kontratang napagwagian ng papasukang construction firm. At sa DPWH Jobs Fair noong Lunes, ang tinanggap ay mga civil engineer, foreman, heavy equipment operator, steel man, kaminero, kantero o mason, latero, karpintero, at piyon. (Ruben E. Taningco)

San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
