5TH ESSAY WRITING CONTEST FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR STUDENTS

Board Chairman Odilon I. Bautista announces that the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes (San Pablo), Inc.5TH On-The-Spot Essay Writing Contest for fourth year high school students will be held on November 15, 2010, a Monday, at their board room along M. Paulino Street, starting at 8:00 o’clock in the morning. All of the more 30 high school units in the city, private and public, has been invited to send one contestant or representative each. Cash prizes and Awards for Excellence are at stake.

Announcement of winners and awarding of prizes will be on November 22, 2010 on time with the commemoration of the 36th Founding Anniversary of the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes (San Pablo City), Inc. RB Seven Lakes was actually founded on November 21, 1974

As in previous years, this program for the youth designed to enhance exemplary adherence towards English proficiency, to help achieve the dreams of many to be globally competitive as workers in communication industry, as well as in cultural inter-actions. Judge Bautista pointed out that every sector of the community must work hand in hand and in sharing the responsibility in helping the youth in their quest for excellence in the field of communication arts.The schools will also be honored and recognized for the important role they are playing in uplifting the students’ English Proficiency Level.

This On-The-Spot Essay Writing Contest is a continuing program of the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes, to coincide with the commemoration of its founding anniversary. Providing incentives for the youth to excel signifies the bank’s expression of gratitude to the community for all the trust and patronage they have
accorded to this financial institution which is the oldest rural bank operating in the city today, Bautista added.

The community must also be reminder that the project does begin with the extension of invitations to the different secondary institutions in the city to send a
representative/contestant each . The RB7L in participating in the Adopt-A-School
Program of the Department of Education provide skill books on communication and other instructional materials and paraphernalia to the elementary school they opted to adopt, because the bank’s policy-makers believe that basic knowledge must be imparted at elementary school level. In connection with the Annual Essay Writing Contest, for having produced three of the four first placers, Laguna Colleges’ High School Department was declared a Hall of Famer by the Rural Bank of Seven Lakes, and the Perpetual Trophy will now remain in their position. Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association. Ms. Apostol was a 2002 cum luade graduate of Boston College, one of the oldest Jesuit University in the United States with campus in Chestbut Hill, Massachusetts, where she majored in pre-law and communication studies.
