PAMANTAYAN NG ORAS SA PILIPINAS

Para sa mga nagnanais na matanto o malaman ang tiyak na oras batay sa Pambansang Pamantayan sa Oras ng Pilipinas o Philippine Standard Time, ito ay madaling magagawa sa pamamagitan ng pagtawag sa Time Service Unit ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical at Astronomical Services Administration ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST/PAGASA) sa telepono bilang (02) 929-1237


Ang oras na ipinagkakaloob ng PAGASA ay salig sa Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) na siyang pamantayan ng lahat ng orasan sa daigdig. Ito ay bunga ng obserbasyong patuluyang isinasagawa ng Royal Observatory sa Greenwich sa England simula pa noong 1884 na nasa Longitude 0 degree 0 minute 0 second at Latitude 51 degrees 28 minutes 38 seconds North of the Equator.

Ang Greenwich Mean Time, na tinatawag ding Greenwich Meridian Time, ang siyang batayan ng lahat ng orasang ginagamit ng mga barkong nagsisipaglayag sa karagatan, at ng mga eroplanong lumilipad sa mga rutang internasyonal. Dito sa Pilipinas ay ito rin ang batayan ng mga agrimensor na nagsasagawa ng solar observation kung sila ay nagsusukat ng mga lote para ang approved plan ang gamitin sa pagpapatala nito sa Land Registration Administration (LRA).(Ruben E. DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A.
