GEL ADRIANO, TO JOIN MAYORAL RACE

    San Pablo City --- A last termer councilor has announced his intention to join 2013 open mayoralty race to be vacated by third termer City Mayor Vicente B. Amante here.
     Serving the unexpired term of the late councilor Delo Cortez when appointed, Councilor Angelo Adriano was elected for three successive term ever since even topping the last 2010 synchronized national and local elections.

     Adriano brings with him his rich experience as local lawmaker, his connections to national leadership and personalities, as well as his know how in civic and philanthropic advocacies being an active member of Rotary Club of San Pablo City South,  in presenting  his program of government to San Pableños.

     Adriano will complete the 4As who will vie for mayorship in 2013 and is considered as one of the frontrunners of the said race.

    Earlier it has been rumored that former Congressman and Mayor Florante “Boy” Aquino was seen going around possibly for inventory of his political leaders and loyal supporters.  He was congressman for three terms and once a city mayor.

    Also talk of the town to join 2013 mayoralty race are City Administrator Loreto “Amben” Amante, son of the incumbent mayor,  and Atty. Hizon Arago, the father of the incumbent Laguna 3rd District Cong. Maria Evita Arago.

San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
