21 CANDIDATES FOR THE SEARCH FOR “GANDANG GIRL SCOUT” PRESENTED

     San Pablo City – The Girl Scout of the Philippines- San Pablo City Council presented the 21 candidates from the 7 Districts to the Council wide Search for “Gandang Girl Scouts” from Twinkler to Junior Scouts last Monday, August 2, 2010 during the Flag Raising Ceremony.
     The contest will run from July to November 2010 while the schedule of counting/canvassing of votes will be on September 15 for the 1st canvassing and on October 20 for the 2nd canvassing. Final canvassing will be held on November 18 and the Coronation Day will be on November 26. The Local Fund Drive Tickets as a ballot ticket (P10.00)  will correspond to 10 votes. Sharing scheme for every ticket sold will proceed to School (10%), District (10%), Candidate (10%) and to the Council (70%).
     Council winners from the three (3) Age Levels (Twinkler, Star and Junior) will be receiving Php 5,000.00 each for the 1st Prize, Php3, 000.00 for the 2nd Prize and Php 2,000.00 for the 3rd Prize. Meanwhile, the Local Fund Drive 2010 Winners will receive Php 10,000.00 for the 1st Prize, Php 8,000.00 for the 2nd Prize and Php 5,000.00 for the 3rd Prize. They will also be giving away 10 consolation prizes amounting to Php 1,000.00 each.
     The Search for “Gandang Girl Scout” is part of the GSP Local Fund Drive 2010 aiming to invigorate the school, family and community participation through sponsoring their chosen candidates.  (CIO-San Pablo)

San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
