EPEKTO NG EL NIÑO, PINAGHANDAAN SA LAGUNA

STA. CRUZ, Laguna –  Pag-alinsunod sa tagubilin ni Gobernadora Teresita S. Lazaro, na umaalinsunod sa Development Strategy for Laguna (DSL) na binalangkas ni Provincial Administrator Dennis “DSL” S. Lazaro, iniulat ni Provincial Agriculturist Marlon P. Tobias na ang kanyang tanggapan ay nakapagsagawa na ng mga pagkilala sa mga lawak na naapektuhan ng umiiral na tagtuyot na dulot ng El Niño Phenomenon na nangangailangan ng mga pangkagipitang tulong mula sa pangasiwaang panglalawigan.

     Sa tulong ng mga eksperto sa paghahalaman mula sa Pamantasan ng Pilipinas  at ng Vegetable Protection Center ng Department of Agriculture sa Los Baños, ay kinilala na nila ang mga panghaliling halaman o alternative crop na maitatanim ng mga magsasaka pa may ibang mapagkakitaan.  

     Ang Provincial El Niño Task Force sa pamamatnugot ni Provincial Administrator Dennis S. Lazaro, ay may pakikipagsanggunian din sa mga kinatawan ng National Food Authority, National Irrigation Administration, Bureau of Soil and Water Management, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Science and Technology, at sa lahat ng mga municipal agriculture officer at farm technician sa lalawigan.

     Sa pakikipanayam kay Provincial Administrator Dennis S. Lazaro sa New Capitol Building noong Martes ng hapon, nabatid na umaasa ang pangasiwaang panglalawigan na ang epekto ng El Niño Phenomenon sa Laguna ay hindi magiging kasing lubha ng nagiging karanasan ng Isabela Province at iba pang lalawigan dito sa Luzon, na kinakailangan ang aksyon at tulong ng Pambansang Pangasiwaan upang mailigtas ang kanilang industriya ng paghahalaman at paghahayupan na lubhang naaapektuhan ng umiiral na init sa kapaligiran. Passed the BAR Examination in the State of New York, U. S. A.

Miss Philippines-USA 2004-2005, Barbara Jean Chumacera Apostol, 27, passed the New York State’s examination for admission to the BAR given on July 24-25, 2007 . She attained her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law in the State of New York where she graduated with honors last May 20, 2007 . At Hofstra Law School , Barbara was the Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was appointed to the position of Diversity Affairs Coordinator by the president of the Student Bar Association.
