     San Pablo City- Ayon kina Mayor Vicente B. Amante, Coconut Festival and Fair  2011 Honorary Chairman  at City Administrator Loreto S. Amante, Coconut Festival and Fair  2011 Over-all Chairman, ay higit na  magiging makulay, makakalikasan, masagana at masaya ang gaganaping 16th Coconut Festival and Fair  sa Enero  8 hanggang 15, 2011.

     Sang-ayon kay City Administrator Amben Amante, ang iba’t-ibang programa para sa walong araw na selebrasyon ay ang mga sumusunod: Enero 8-Search for Pinaka-Bibong Batang San Pableno (7 pm) at United Pastoral Council Night (10 pm) sa City Plaza;  Enero 9-SM City San Pablo Mall Day (12 pm), Deped/SK Night-Laguna Fashion Designer’s Association Fashion Show-Bands/Artists-Fireworks Display (7 pm), City Plaza; Enero 10-ABS-CBN Umagang Kay Ganda (4 am) at Cocotrade Fair (8 am), City Plaza, Fashion Show (3 pm), SM City Activity Center, Battle of the Band (7 pm), City Plaza; Enero 11-1st Cocostar 2011 Personality and Talent Search (1 pm), SM City Activity Center, Munting Mutya at Lakan Coronation Night (7 pm), City Plaza; Enero 12-Interpretative Dance Contest (1 pm), SM City Activity Center, Lakan at Mutya Coronation Night (7 pm), City Plaza; Enero 13-Coco Carnival Queen, Float Parade, Street Dancing Competition (11 am), City Plaza, San Miguel Night (7 pm), City Plaza; Enero 14-SM Cocofest Street Dancing Showdown (9 am), SM City Activity Center, TESA/PRISEA Night (7 pm) at Governor’s Night (9 pm), City Plaza; Enero 15-Brass Band Competition (1 pm), San Pablo Cathedral, Mayor’s Night,  Congresswoman’s Night, Sponsor’s Night, Fireworks Display (7 pm), City Plaza.

DOÑA LEONILA (MINI-FOREST) PARK

What is now known as Doña Leonila (Mini-Forest) Park overlooking the Sampaloc Lake is actually a portion of the site for the City Hall Complex purchased in 1937 by the Municipal Government of San Pablo headed by President Inocencio Barleta, which was partly developed after the termination of World War II under the administration of appointed City Mayor, Dr. Fernando A. Bautista. During the incumbency of elected Mayor Lauro D. Dizon Sr., with the help of the Rotary Club of San Pablo, and under the supervision of Dr. Juan B. Hernandez, then club secretary of the local Rotary Club and Chairman of the City Beautification Committee, constructed some park structures at the park, with the fountain featuring the country lass with agriculture harvest as centerpiece. Probably, Hernandez and then City Engineer Perfecto Reyes were inspired by the figures affixed on the façade of the City Hall Building which symbolizes progress.
