DILG inanunsyo na ang mga petsa ng eleksyon ng bagong Liga ng mga Barangay officers

     Manila (24 November) -- Ipinahayag na ng Department of the Interior and Local Government ang mga petsa ng halalan ng mga magiging bagong opisyales ng Liga ng mga Barangay sa antas na nasyonal, rehiyonal, probinsyal, at panglunsod/pangmunisipal. 

     Sinabi ni DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo na sa Disyembre  7 isasagawa ang halalan sa mga city and municipal chapters ng liga, at sa Disyembre 17 naman ang sa mga provincial chapters.
     Samantala sa Enero 13 idaraos ang eleksyon ng mga regional officers,  at sa Enero 14 pipiliin ang mga national officers. 

     Ayon kay Robredo ang pagkakaroon ng national, regional, provincial, city and municipal chapter ng Liga ng mga Barangay ay nakasaad sa Local Government Code of 1991 o Batas Republika Bilang 7160. 

     Dagdag pa ng kalihim na awtomatikong miyembro ng Liga ng mga Barangay ang lahat ng punong barangay na nahalal noong nakaraang Oktubtre 25, 2010.

     Magsisimula ang 3-year term ng mga nahalal na pinunong barangay   sa  tanghaling tapat ng Martes, Nobyembre 30, 2010. (PIA-CALABARZON)

San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
