DISCON 2011 Sa Boracay Ng R. I. District 3820

Sa nakaraang pakikipanayam ni Bb. Chun-Chun Azucena ng CELESTRON Cable Television, iniulat ni President Melky Guan ng Rotary Club of Central San Pablo City na ang District Conference (DISCON) 2011 ng Rotary International District 3820 na pinangangasiwaan ni District Governor Fortunato “Tato” Dimayuga na may hurisdiksyon sa mga klab sa Katimugang Luzon ay nakatakdang ganapin sa Boracay Eco-Village and Convention Center sa darating na Abril 8 – 10, 2011 sa pagtangkilik ng Rotary Club of Tanauan. Ang mga delegadong mamarapating sumakay sa MV Maria Xenia ay  aalis sa Batangas City Pier sa ganap na ika-10:00 ng gabi ng Miyerkoles, Abril 6 na inaasahang daraong sa Caticlan Pier sa Malay, Aklan sa ganap na ika-8:00 ng umaga ng Huwebes, Abril 7. Bago buksan ang District Convention ay gaganapin ang 5th Leg ng District Governor’s Golf Tournament, at ang Governor Tato 3-Kilometer Fun Run. Sa pagbalik, ang charter ship ng mga delegado ay aalis ng Caticlan Pier sa ganap na ika-6:00 ng gabi ng Abril 10 at inaasahan sa Batangas Pier sa ganap ng ika-4:00 ng umaga ng susunod na araw ng Lunes, Abril 11. Si Abogado Felicisimo Tobias San Luis, na isinilang noong Hunyo 23, 1919, at lumaki sa Bayan ng Santa Cruz, ay nanungkulang Punonglalawigan ng Laguna simula noong Disyembre 30, 1955 hanggang sa siya ay papagpamahingahin noong Disyembre 18, 1992, o siya ay tuloy-tuloy na nanungkulan sa loob ng 36 taon, 11 buwan, at 18 araw, na kinikilala ng kasaysayan na siya ang natatanging lider na nanungkulan bilang punong tagapagpaganap ng isang lalawigan sa Pilipinas sa ganoong kahabang panahon.      Isang mabuting mananalumpati, nang ibaba ni Pangulong Ferdinand E. San Pablo City’s Hagdang Bato

             Nobody knew the number of steps it has:   when it was constructed and by whom,   until Mayor Vicente B. Amante asked his private secretary to actually count the number of steps and copy the wordings on the tablets affixed on the lower part of the park structure.             The Hagdang Bato (concrete stairway) leading to the Sampaloc Lake, which is now a famous local landmark, is now part of the logo or official seal of San Pablo, being the City of Seven Lakes.           It was constructed in November 1915 under the administration of municipal president Marcial Alimario, but many, including the youth and technical personnel of the local engineering office, simply look it for granted.  Nobody knew the number of steps it has, when it was constructed and by whom, until Mayor Vicente B.
